Brittany Bonner - Oboe
Oboist Brittany Bonner has a versatile career that includes performance, education and community engagement in the Colorado Front Range region. Brittany is the principal oboist of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra and Cheyenne Symphony, and also holds positions in the Boulder Philharmonic and Greeley Philharmonic Orchestras. She has also performed with Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Opera Colorado, and the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. In addition, she has recently commissioned several new works for oboe, clarinet, and piano with the goal of expanding the limited repertoire for that instrumentation. In 2022, she was invited to perform a recital at the International Double Reed Society featuring these commissions.
A dedicated pedagogue, Brittany serves as Lecturer in Oboe at the University of Wyoming, where she was appointed in 2023. Brittany is also a woodwinds faculty member at Parlando School of Musical Arts, where she teaches middle and high school oboe and saxophone players. Students of Brittany have been accepted into numerous honor bands, summer programs, and collegiate institutions across the country.
Brittany is a co-founder of Melodic Light, a concert series bringing excellent musical performances to local and underserved communities in northern Colorado. In recent years, concerts presented by Melodic Light have had audiences of over 500 people. She is passionate about chamber music, and performs regularly with her wind quintet Five Seasons in concerts for audiences of all ages.
Brittany plays a model 901A Marigaux oboe. Her principal teachers include Peter Cooper, Jason Lichtenwalter, and Dr. Doris DeLoach.
