We kick-off our 20th Anniversary Season with a program of works dedicated to the giant musical figure Ludwig van Beethoven. Local Boulder Star Violinist, Ed Dusinberre, will join us for a performance of Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. The program concludes with Beethoven’s delightful Symphony No. 7. We hope to see you there!

Artist-in-Residence - Jennifer Hayghe - Piano

We welcome our 2024–25 Artist-in-Residence, Jennifer Hayghe, to the Boulder Chamber Orchestra for the first of her three mini-chamber recital of the season. Hayghe will be joined by members of the orchestra for a performance of piano trios by Frank Bridge, Nadia Boulanger, and and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Boulder’s sensational director of the Boulder Bach festival, Zachary Carrettin, joins the orchestra for a performance of four concertos for strings from Vivaldi’s monumental collection L’estro Armonio. No better musical pairing than one of the greatest vocal masterpieces of the Baroque era, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.

Internationally-acclaimed concert pianist, Adam Żukiewicz, returns to the Boulder Chamber Orchestra’s Mini-Chamber Series for an exciting program of works for piano quintet. He will be joined by members of the orchestra for an exciting double-bill of quintets by Johannes Brahms and Théodore Dubois.

This Special 20th Anniversary Holiday Celebration welcomes another local Boulder star, Nicolo Spera, performing the world premier of Giacomo Susani’s Guitar Concerto, conducted by the composer, as well as the beloved Fantasia para un Gentilhombre by Joaquín Rodrigo. The program will also include works by Dvorak and Massenet.

Pianist Jennifer Hayghe returns for her second of three personally curated chamber music programs as the 2024–25 Artist-in-Residence. The evening will include a splendid program of works by French composers for piano and winds. This diverse program of works will include compositions by D’Indy, Roussel, Poulenc, Schmitt, and Farrenc.

BCO’s own Principal Clarinet, Kellan Toohey, joins the orchestra as soloist in Aaron Copland’s sensational Concerto for Clarinet and String Orchestra. The concert includes strings masterpieces from contemporary composer Peter Boyer as well as the definitive String Serenade by Antonin Dvorak.

This memorable evening will include Handel’s Concerto Grosso, Op. 3 No. 1, and Schubert’s joyous and songful Symphony No. 5.

20th Anniversary Celebration at Macky Auditorium

The Grand Finale of our 20th Anniversary Season will take place in the historic Macky Auditorium on the beautiful campus of CU Boulder. We will present a robust program featuring internationally-acclaimed concert pianist Adam Żukiewicz in Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Op. 43, for Piano and Orchestra.
